A mysterious parcel in the mail on Friday November, 23rd.

23 Nov

This morning, there was a mysterious and surprising parcel in the mail at school.

Here it is 🙂

Let’s have a closer look at it 🙂

Where is it from?

It is from Athens in Greece .

6  beautiful stamps from Hellas ( Greece in the Greek language).

On 5 stamps, men and women are dancing . They are wearing their traditional costumes: a sort of white skirt for men and long  yellow  dresses with a red apron for women. Women have got a scarf on their head too.

On the last stamp we can see a jellyfish, just like the ones we saw during “integration week” at the seaside.

Can you see the dancers and the jellyfish? 🙂

Sender’s name: Mrs Vicky

We haven’t opened the parcel yet.

Can you guess what there is inside?

Give your opinion in the comments if you wish.

The French team 🙂 x 14 🙂

    Dear friends of College Kerallan
Thank you so much for the warm “welcome” to the parcel of Greece. I hope you will like its contents.
As for the men’s costumes, they are dressed in the traditional way as Evzones. And the dance is called “tsamikos”.

It is a represantation of a circular dance only for men that was born in ancient Greece. In modern times, both men and women dance together.
    Enjoy!
    Mrs Vicky

Thank you Mrs Vicky for the mysterious parcel. To start with , we observed the stamps to see who was sending us a gift. A parcel from Greece! What a surprise! We thought the dancers were dancing the sytarki, the only dance we know here.
Thank you for the video which puts things right.

Once a teacher, always a teacher, my friend 😉

    @ Hugo,

Maybe you think there are tinsels in the parcel because the parcel is light, not heavy at all. 😉

Could you hear any sounds when you held the parcel in your hands? Maybe it’s a real puzzle 😀
