A very unusual present from our German friends ;-)

07 Dec

Recently we got a parcel from our German partners. We opened it yesterday and found out they had spoilt us.

Georg, the  well-travelled  German teddy bear, was glad to get out of his box, so were his friends from Poland, Greece, Portugal, Latvia, The Czech Republic and  Italy 🙂

But … they were not alone. We unwrapped a glassine paper and there he was:

P1060740

A night watchman carrying a lantern, a pipe in his mouth 🙂

We opened up the bottom  of the figure and  introduced an incense stick  in its body 🙂 🙂

And guess what?  He started smoking and smoking and we  wondered if the smoke would trigger the fire alarm  as if it were a fire drill 🙂 🙂 🙂 Fortunately we managed to stop the smoke 😉 We had a good laugh 😉 but were a bit worried about the alarm.

That wooden figure is one of us in class now and we put it under our Xmas tree 😉 without any incense stick burning 😉

More to come about Georg in a very near future.

The French team 🙂

Fire alarm because of Christmas present from Germany… would have made a great headline, wouldn’t it? 😀 It might have been safer to choose a nutcracker – the other traditional wooden figure for the season – but we didn’t find any the day we were shopping. 😉
Let me tell you another story: Once we had a fire alarm here…because of a class having a Christmas party, using some of those sparklers 😀
Well, I didn’t really witness that, but I think some of our team members were involved 😉 I’ll ask next week…

I’m sure Georg and friends will feel safe with a night watchman around … I suggest they look at the stars, he certainly knows everything about them!

They will surely have a great time … with such nice hosts. 🙂
We can assure you the watchman never smokes without permission.

Georg and friends will meet their French friends next week and let me tell you you will have a football team to host in your glass window at school 🙂
As far as the night watchman is concerned we will keep him under control despite the fact that the stuff he smokes , smells good 🙂 🙂

Why not? What I meant was: Georg and friends from all over Europe will meet 6 other friends from Brittany ; just because my kids who didn’t get any plush toys were sad. SO? Shush! That’s a surprise! 🙂
